Assistant Instructor

Chastity Roberts has a career in public service spanning more than 10 years, serving in a variety of roles. She is currently employed by Fort Worth Police Department (FWPD), one of the largest and fastest-growing agencies in the country.

Ms. Roberts has eight years of Property and Evidence experience. Working her way up through the ranks to Unit Supervisor, she has served in that position for more than two years. She supervises 20 employees in the FWPD Property and Evidence Unit, which provides assistance to sworn personnel, deposits nearly $2 million per year, and manages close to 500,000 pieces of property/evidence – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year.

As Property and Evidence Unit Supervisor, Ms. Roberts guided her Unit to achieve Texas Best Practices Recognition and implemented multiple policy/procedural changes to maximize Unit productivity and growth. She created new career growth opportunities for the Unit with the implementation of positions for Property and Evidence Unit Trainer and Account Technician. She is implementing a new barcoding and RMS System for her Unit to insure it maintains its high standards by using the latest technology and information.

FWPD has honored Ms. Roberts during her tenure with the Unit Action Award and Civilian of the Quarter, among others; and recognized her efforts to advance recruitment among civilian employees. She is a member of the Tarrant County Overdose and Poisoning Prevention Taskforce; organizes Drug Take-Back Events and oversees the Drug Take-Back Kiosk Program; has assisted with Gun Buy-Back Events hosted by the Department.

Ms. Roberts believes in the importance of Property and Evidence Management, furthering educational opportunities in the field, and passing on her experience and knowledge to other growing departments
