Sergeant Nina Jacobs served as a sworn peace officer for 37 years. Now retired, Sgt. Jacobs is assistant instructor with Evidence Management for Law Enforcement and brings her expertise in organization, supervision and leadership skills to the classes it offers.
Sgt. Jacobs began her law enforcement career with Livermore Police Department in Livermore, Calif. She was assigned to the Patrol Bureau and was recognized as one of the first women in the State of California to serve on the SWAT Team.
She moved to Fresno, Calif., after seven years and was hired by Fresno Police Department (FPD) where she quickly rose through the ranks promoting to sergeant.
Among her many leadership roles with FPD, Sgt. Jacobs supervised the Violent Crime Suppression Unit, Internal Affairs and the Sexual Assault Team.
Sgt. Jacobs received her Bachelor of Science in Criminology from California State University, Fresno. She is a graduate of Sherman Block Leadership Institute and was an instructor for FPD.
